The Tour is a mass participation, OCA sanctioned, Gran Fondo – chip timed event with proceeds supporting the Grand River Hospital Foundation and KW Counselling Services.  The event is geared to all kinds of roadies; racers, serious cyclists, the weekend road warrior and recreational non-competitive riders. Choose the event to fit your aspirations, register as an individual or join as a team of 5 and compete against other teams. For the 130 and 70 km awards for top 3 male and female and team champion prize, not to mention the top fundraiser for one of the charitable partners will be able to win prizes.  Top 5 Fundraisers will receive a special prize/recognition and lead out all cyclists along with Team BlackBerry for the first 5km of rolling, neutral start. Tour de Waterloo is an opportunity to ride the beautiful Waterloo region area roads supported by police & emergency services, marked routes, route marshals and rest stops for those who need to replenish water bottles or snacks. A delicious hot meal will be served after you finish your ride along with music at the Sybase parking lot staging area right by the start/finish line.

Experience cycling the rural beauty around Kitchener Waterloo and better yet spend the weekend in our beautiful community. Chances are good that you’ll ride by Old Order Mennonites driving horse and buggies on their way to Sunday services. The clip-clop of hooves will briefly drown out the zing of bike chains connecting you to this unique region of Ontario. You’ll ride past historic buildings in the small, quaint towns of the region.

Proceeds from the 4th Annual Tour de Waterloo will support cancer and mental health care programs in the community.

The Grand River Regional Cancer Centre (GRRCC) at Grand River Hospital is one of the top rated cancer centres in Ontario, providing high-quality care services to residents of Waterloo Region, Wellington County and surrounding areas with timely access to cancer treatment.

Areas of specialized care include: a Chemotherapy Program, Radiation Program, Clinical Trials (Research) Program, Supportive Care, Inpatient Oncology and Palliative Care. So far we’ve raised in excess of $55,000 for the Foundation.
